36 Anglers attended Suffolk Water Park's first Winter Weekender on Saturday 1st December where over £310 was raised in Aid of the Children's Appeal (so far and we're still collecting funds).

Becky Eaks said of the event, "We wanted to create a real bustle around the shop and we were thinking that in December, the weather would be freezing and the fishing may not be great, but at least anglers would come into the shop, enjoy the Social and raise funds in Aid of The Children's Appeal at Ipswich Hospital! It turned out that the weather was reasonably mild, although it was raining and the Carp were feeding, so a few fish were caught too!"
Some of the anglers who attended the Social arrived a few days in advance and their tickets covered 24 hours over the weekend.

Because of the rain, the casting competition didn't go ahead so the amazing prizes were moved to the Quiz!
Adam from Navitas was in the shop all day Saturday helping anglers with clothing orders and offering some great deals for Winter! (Lite Boots and the new Socks should be in this week!)
"We made sure that all the anglers, adults and juniors, had a Burger Voucher for Arthurs Burger Van and a drink as a thank you for supporting the park and the charity", said Stuart Mill. He added, "The Next Generation Match was so popular in the Summer that we organised an additional one on Match Lake 1. It always great to get the younger generation interested in fishing and give them the chance to fish 24 hours!"
