Silver Fish Challenge raises funds for local Hospice
The First Ken Brett Silver Fish Challenge in Aid of St Elizabeth Hospice was held at Suffolk Water Park on Thursday 14th September 2017. The weather held out for the Charity Match and raffle, held to raise money for the hospice and 16 fished in total, a great turn out for a weekday match. Suffolk Water Park donated Match Lake 1 for the event with all proceeds going to charity. In total just over £520 was raised for the charity on the day!

Ken Brett was cared for by St Elizabeth Hospice. Ken was a keen fisherman and following his time in the hospice, wanted to hold a Silver Fish event to help raise funds for the hospice. His hospice nurse Martin Russell and his brother Peter Brett came along and fished although unfortunately Ken was taken into hospital on the day of the match and Peter went to be with him. Sadly Ken passed away and our thoughts are with Ken’s family at this difficult time.
Brian Taylor from the Hospice organised the event extremely well, with kindly donated cash prizes and trophies for the winners
and a raffle with donations from local businesses who supplied lots of fantastic prizes! A big thank you to the
following businesses for their donations:
